I’m Laura, a Midwesterner transplanted to Mexico City (via a three-year stop in Portland, Maine). I live with my husband, David, whom you may see now and then as a guest blogger!

Fresa is not only the Spanish word for strawberry; it’s a mexicanismo for a person who is preppy. Occasionally it’s used negatively (to describe someone who’s snobbish), but I just can’t resist an alliterative title: The Fearless Fresa.

Here I will document my many adventures and triumphs, along with the inevitable mishaps, embarrassing moments, and even failures. Keep an eye out for posts on culture shock, language, newlywed life, and of course, love notes to Mexico lindo and querido, my adopted country.
